If you have a question that isn't in this list, please let us know.
I have an IBPMail mailbox, how can I access it using my normal mail client?Configure your mail client to use IMAP or POP to read the mail, the server url is imap.ibpmail.com or pop.ibpmail.com, port number is 995 for POP and 993 for IMAP, connection is SSL/TLS. To send mail via the IBPMail you need to configure the SMTP server as smtp.ibpmail.com on port 465, encryption SSL/TLS. Use your full mail address as the username and your password for the connection. Example configuration for Outlook:
How can I send a message to an X400 customer using my IBPMail account?First of all, you need to have a VPRMD (Virtual Private Mail Domain), meaning that your IBPMAIL domain needs to be recognized as a valid source for X400 messages, this requires some configuration and normally a different contract. Once that is sorted, you simply send a mail to "X400-Address-Here"@xgateprod.400net.nl and the gateway will take care of the rest. Note that the X400 address has to be put between quotes. An X400 address is something like "/S=TESTING/O=TESTING/PRMD=TEST-PRMD/ADMD=400NET/C=NL/". My customer is trying to send me an X400 message to my IBPMail account, and is asking for my X400 address, what is it?An X400 address is just a sort of a mail address, it identifies an X400 mailbox. If you have a VPRMD (Virtual Private Mail Domain), then you can also receive X400 messages via our gateway, in this case you should have received the corresponding X400 address for your domain from us. I have a VPRMD, I have a mailbox called 'testing' and I know the X400 address for that mailbox, if I add another mailbox, what would be the X400 address for that?In general, the address is the same but instead of 'S=TESTING' it has the username of the new mailbox but without the domain. For example, if your VPRMD is O=TESTING/PRMD=TEST-PRMD/ADMD=400NET/C=NL/, then your 'TESTING' X400 address is /S=TESTING/O=TESTING/PRMD=TEST-PRMD/ADMD=400NET/C=NL/ and if you add a mailbox called 'INVOICE' the X400 address will be /S=INVOICE/O=TESTING/PRMD=TEST-PRMD/ADMD=400NET/C=NL/. Note that if you put a dot (.) in the username, the name will be split in half and a 'G=' part will be added to handle the part after the dot. X400 addresses are weird. How many mailboxes can I add to my VPRMD?Technically there is no limit, but the more mailboxes you add, the more you are going to pay. If you need to run a large infrastructure, I suggest you contact us to work out a different contract. I have sent several messages to one of my customers, but they claim they never received them! What is going on?Normally if a message cannot be sent for any reason a Non-Delivery Report (NDR) is generated with the description of the problem, this NDR is sent to the originator of the message. If you didn't receive any NDR is very possible that the message was sent and they simply can't find it. You can always ask for a Message Trace to see what happened to the message once sent. Please note that we only operate on the RELAY of messages, as such we can only trace a message using information like Sender, Recipient, Date of transmission and (the most important) Message ID. We cannot trace on information like the message content. Can I configure a mailbox to automatically forward messages to a different mailbox that is not hosted by you?Of course you can, using the Administration Portal (link on the top of the page). I have an X400 mailbox, how do I access it?You need an X400-compatible client to access an X400 mailbox, please note that we DO NOT provide such software. The configuration to connect to the mailbox for your client is the following:
Can anybody access the X400 mailbox? No. In order to access an X400 mailbox, besides the username and the password for the box, your IP address needs to be authorized in our firewall, if you need to change IP you should first inform us so we can authorize the new IP, otherwise you will get cut off from the mailbox until the firewall is changed. My company wants to setup a lot of X400 mailboxes and we expect a lot of traffic, what possibilities do we have?If you don't want to manage multiple VPRMDs or multiple mailboxes, you could decide to run your own X400 MTA and use ours as a Relay to send and receive messages. Ok, so we can use IBPmail to send X400 messages and receive them, what other options do we have? There is also AS2, that uses HTTPS to send and receive fully encrypted messages between established "partners". How do I configure a Signature in the WebMail application?Login in the webmail, then click on the "MAIL" button on the top right of the screen and from the menu select 'Settings' On the settings panel on the left, select "Identities", then in the center panel select the identity you want to change or edit the signature for (normally there is only one identity), and on the right panel you'll have the space for the signature. SAVE the changes.
We received a message that should contains a special character, but we don't see the characterPlease be aware that we RELAY messages, and -bar one exception- no changes are applied to the body (content) of the messages. The one exception is: if the message is sent via SMTP, there is a line-lenght limit of 998 characters (1000 considering CR/LF terminator), so the system automatically splits longer lines to fit them into the standard and add the corresponding terminators. In some cases, the sender of the message send non-ASCII characters (UTF or UNICODE) and those are not allowed inside ASCII messages, in this case the recipient's application could consider the character "wrong" and simply drop (or ignore) it. Please ask the sender about their encoding before complaining that the message has been "corrupted". We need to establish/change a VPN to connect to the systemPlease fill in the form and we'll get in touch with you. I have to add or remove a bunch of users from my domain, how do I do it quickly? You can use the Batch Processor, but drop us a mail before so we can authorize your domain administrator for use.
